The "Good & the Evil" is a research in search of the “good product” from a designers point of view. The research was both based on theoretical information and surveys as well as on practical experiments. The outcome was a book split into three chapters, in the end of every chapter was the design of an object: the ”bad product”, the “neutral product” and finally, the “good product”...

| chapter 1/3: "The bad product" |
____________________________________________________________________________________________
| Research Topics: |
Are weapons bad products? Constructive Toys |
| Object: |
Wooden Toy gun “kill yourself, kill someone else” |
| Conclusion: |
“Bad” products do not exist, it is the abuse of them that makes them evil. |

The first part of the thesis consisted of research about the “bad” product. I analysed products such as the Colt revolver, which had an important influence on the history of design and production with regard to quality, function, emotion and moral. The object I designed in this part was a wooden toy gun, with a shape reminiscent of toy blocks. The barrel of the gun can be switched in two directions: this allows to play to kill other people or yourself...

| chapter 2/3: "The neutral product" |
____________________________________________________________________________________________
| Research Topics: |
The polarisation ofthe brand: Apple/Macintosh |
| Object: |
The concrete “ZeroMac” that is (as far as possible) useless |
| Conclusion: |
A neutral object should not have any purpose. |

The second part of the thesis begins with research about the polarising products of Apple/ Macintosh. In my attempt to design the neutral product I designed a ZeroMac, that is as far as possible completly useless...the hardest part of my thesis. |

That´s how the "neutral" object looks like...(Actually it wasn´t neutral at all in the end, because it was influencing the mark of my degree...) |

| chapter 3/3: "my good product" |
____________________________________________________________________________________________
| Research Topics: |
Water storage |
| Object: |
A “honest” porcelain vase collection |
| Conclusion: |
The good product is subjective. |

____________________________________________________________________________________________
The last part of the book began with research about storing water and ended in a collection of “honest” vases. I decided that my good product should at the very least tell the truth. This is why this porcelain collection consists of vases that were injured by attacks from natural catastrophes or terror attacks, imperfect like human beings. The injuries took place in the most vunerable situation of a porcelain production, the leather-hard state...
(the leader-hard state is the state of porcelain between pouring and drying, the porcelain has a soft (vunerable) consistance) |

Finally I designed this collection of injured and attacted porcelain vases...
